PAYDAY CAKE RECIPE

1 box - yellow cake mix
1/3 cup margarine
1 egg
3 cups mini marshmallows

1st topping:
2/3 cup corn syrup
1/4 cup margarine
1 (12 oz) pkg peanut butter chips
2 tsp. vanilla extract

2nd topping:
2 cups Rice Krispies
2 cups salted peanuts

Directions:  Mix all cake ingredients (except marshmallows) together and bake in ungreased cake pan for 12 - 18 minutes at 350 degrees (I always use Pam...even if it says ungreased).

When baked and while still hot - put marshmallows on top.

Heat 1st topping mixture over medium heat, stirring constantly.  Pour over marshmallows.

Sprinkle 2 cups Rice Krispies over 1st topping, then sprinkle 2 cups peanuts on top.

Mrs. Morgan's Beef & Cheddar Dip

1 - 8 oz. sour cream
1 - 8  oz. cream cheese
1 - jar of dried beef - chopped
1 1/2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese (separated)
1 - small jar of pimento
1 - small jar of green chilies
2 or 3 green onions chopped

Mix all of the ingredients listed above together, using only 1 cup of the cheese.  Cut out the center of a Hawaiian Bread bowl.  Pour the dip mixture into the bowl.  Cover and cook @ 425 for 40 minutes.  Put the remaining 1/2 cup cheese on top and cook uncovered until the cheese has melted.  Use the center of the bread and *Fritos to dip.

The third grade students will share a Christmas lunch with their grandparents tomorrow in the cafeteria.  Please remind family members to be here at noon.  Students are to remain at school after they eat.

Our Boy Winner

Seth Lauderdale was the winner of the boy's bicycle.  Have you ever seen anyone as happy as this little boy?  He knew just which one he wanted!  Thank you Seth for working so hard!  Mrs. Burson loved her shopping trip with you and Brookelynn!  Seth was seen riding down the hallway at school by many of the students!  I wonder who will be our next big winner?   Hmmmm... Mrs. Burson - what do you have up your sleeve now?

CHRISTMAS DISMISSAL DATES / TIMES

The high school and middle school will be taking semester tests the week of December 17-21.  You know what that means!!! We will be dismissing school according to their test schedule. 

ELEMENTARY DISMISSAL TIMES:

Monday, December 17 - regular time
Tuesday, December 18 - regular time
Wednesday, December 19 - buses will run at 1:30 p.m.
Thursday, December 20 - buses will run at 11:20 a.m.
Friday, December 21 - makeup test date, buses will run at 9:30 a.m.

THIS IS HOW WE ROLL!

Every week Mrs. Barnes takes a group of second graders to the elementary AR lab.  She has been encouraging the students to visualize reading in a "fun way" instead of only relating it to "work". 

So often, students associate reading with - sitting straight in a desk, being very still, and being "told" what they must read.  Well as you can see below... that's just not how it is at P.C.

Jayden, Branson, and Elijah thought it was so cool when Mrs. Barnes propped her feet on the table and kicked back while reading her book.  What a GREAT role model!  They quickly wanted to know..."Is that allowed?"   As you can see... they learn quickly!
